4-Day Yangtze River Downstream Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang

After dinner, your driver and guide will take you to Chongqing Chaotianmen Port, the official starting point for the Yangtze River downstream cruise. Our dedicated staff will guide you to your private cabin, many of which feature private balconies for an immersive experience from the moment you arrive.

For guests arriving earlier, a private guided tour can be arranged upon request, offering a relaxing way to explore Chongqing’s iconic sights such as Hongya Cave with its illuminated stilted architecture, and Liziba Light Rail Station, famous for the train passing through a residential building.

Chaotianmen Check-in
Start your morning with a relaxing cruise along the Yangtze River and enjoy the gentle views along the banks. Then join an excursion to Shuanggui Mountain, a peaceful area with ancient temples, stone paths, and fresh forest air.

After returning onboard for lunch, continue to Fengdu Ghost City, one of the most famous cultural sites along the Yangtze. This cultural site is famous for its old halls, statues, and legends about the afterlife.

In the evening, you have the option to enjoy the “War Fire of Three Kingdoms Show”. This large-scale live performance features dramatic storytelling, lights and action scenes based on the legends of the Three Kingdoms period.

Begin your journey through the world-famous Three Gorges, one of the highlights of the Yangtze River. The cruise first enters Qutang Gorge, the shortest but most dramatic section, known for its steep cliffs and narrow passage. Then continue into Wu Gorge, famous for its deep valleys, rising peaks, and misty scenery. The final stretch is Xiling Gorge, the longest of the three, featuring broad landscapes, hidden bays, and fast-moving waters that show the power of the Yangtze.

In the afternoon, join an exciting excursion to Shennv Stream, one of the Yangtze’ s most beautiful tributaries. You will transfer to a smaller, traditional sampan boat, and glide through a narrow gorge filled with crystal-clear water and lush cliffs.

Upon arrival in Yichang, disembark at the pier to begin your shore excursion. You will transfer by bus to visit the massive Three Gorges Dam, the world¡¯s largest hydroelectric project. From the viewing platforms, you can enjoy wide views of the spillway, river channel, and mountains.

You can also choose the Three Gorges Dam Ship Elevator to experience the wonder of a 113-meter vertical ascent. Following the dam tour, a comfortable coach will take you to Yichang. Upon arrival, your driver will take you to Yichang Railway Station or Airport to end the journey.

Besides, extension tours are available on your request to visit Zhangjiajie, or Shanghai for onward journey.
