Flights from Australia to Chongqing Via Transit Cities

If direct flights from Australia to Chongqing aren’t available or don’t suit your schedule, you can reach Chongqing with one stopover in a major transit city. Common hubs include Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore.

• From Sydney (SYD), common connecting flights go through Beijing (PEK) on airlines such as Air China or Qantas, with a total travel time of about 16–18 hours depending on the layover.

• From Melbourne (MEL), travelers often connect via Shanghai (PVG) on China Eastern or Qantas flights, taking roughly 17–19 hours in total.

• From Brisbane (BNE), connections through Hong Kong (HKG) on Cathay Pacific typically require 16–18 hours of total travel time.

• Fingerprint Scan: Use the machine to scan your passport and fingers.
• Immigration: Show your passport and return ticket.
• Baggage: Walk 10 minutes to get your bags.

Part 5: Getting to the Chongqing City

Chongqing is a “Mountain City”. Moving around with luggage can be hard.

• Line: Line 10 (Red) or Line 3 (Blue).
